Bands & Artists : So Last Summer

shortysolastsummer writes"So Last Summer is a fresh pop punk band from the eastern suburbs of Melbourne, Australia. Formed in February 2008 the boys have quicky built up a solid reputation in the local area for having fun catchy pop punk tunes you can sing along to! After spending the last few months writing, playing, and recording their original songs as acoustic versions through their acoustic alter ego "Jasey Rae" the guys have now assembled a full band and are ready to hit the scene with full energy! Please check out our tunes and let us know what you think!

Other : SixFtHick, ROOT! & Ships Piano presented by USvsTHEM

peri writes"

Swampy rockers, SixFtHick perform a Melbourne send off show before hitting Europe. SixFtHick, Australia’s biggest anomaly, a 13-year-old band who despite playing over 700 shows, performing over 60 east coast Australian tours, touring Europe and Japan, has so far evaded the mainstream’s attention. But then that’s just how the Sixfthicks like it. Their performance will be filmed for a do*****entary, Seminal Urges, which follows SixFtHick across Europe. The doco will be air on JTV in 2009.

Adding even more fat to the bill is ROOT! (Rumoured to be) a post TISM project for lead man, “DC”. ROOT! with their punked up, countryesque songs of the suburban underbelly. Part rock band. Part poetry reading. It’s fitting that ROOT!’ with their title single “Get up Yourself” would be a prized catch for USvsTHEM who consider themselves a wankery-free anti-haircut, haircut band night.

Starting the night, Ships Piano, some 16 y.o’s who might resemble Arctic Monkey if they were Aus-Arctic Rats, tilt the age scale. Having already supported Kelly Stoltz and Future Of The Left, Ships Piano are being given opportunities beyond their years but not their calibre.

In a night of contradictions, so steep you can barely climb the stairs, join us and revel in united Solipsism and make yourself part of JTV history.

Tickets are onsale now through www.moshtix.com.au
