Bands & Artists : The Good China & Institut Polaire @ the Empress

namcm writes"

Set to be a big night of big indie bands with big indie sounds, Friday May 1st 2009 will see Melbourne 8-piece The Good China join fellow 8-piece and new Melburnians, Institut Polaire to bring The Empress a jam-packed night (and crowded stage) teeming with dancing, blissful noise and general mayhem.

The Good China have been knuckling down on fresh material and finding uses for their newly aquired mandolin and ukulele which recently joined their already impressive array of diverse instruments. This will be one of the last times to see them before they bunker down at Soundpark Studios in June to record their debut EP with esteemed producer Steve Schram (JJJ, Little Birdy, Custom Kings, Little Red).

The night will feature support by Travis Marke.

Doors at 8pm, $6 to get on board."
