Bands & Artists : Rouge Foncé
MichelleRouge writes"Rouge Foncé (pronounced roozh fon-SAY) are a new dark cabaret rock band from Melbourne, Australia. Formed in late 2008, they have exploded onto the live scene in 2009, playing at venues such as Ruby’s Lounge, the Esplanade, the Public Bar, IDGAFF, the Brunswick Hotel, and more. They have supported many artists including Yohosie, Dave Graney, Sleeplever, Dirty Canary, The Black Popes, and others. They have received airplay and been interviewed on 3WBC 94.1 FM (Melbourne).
Rouge Foncé bring provocative vocals, haunting melodies, and macabre storytelling rock to the burlesque revival scene. In the spirit of bringing together the worlds of rock and burlesque, they often have burlesque dancer KerryX perform a fan dance during their set.
Rouge Foncé’s debut EP, ‘Retrograde Amusia’, has just been released. Comprising of 4 tracks, ‘Retrograde Amusia’ was recorded at Soundpark Studios in Northcote, Victoria, and recorded and mixed by Brent Gray.

News : VAMP 7'' Vinyl Launch Tour Announced For Victoria!
PixieMusic writes"Alt-rocker trio VAMP are set to break boundaries with their brand new 7” vinyl, due for release January 2010.
Modestly self-titled, this limited edition vinyl is VAMP’s debut release and also the debut release from indie record label (record of course in the truest sense of the word) Last Heat Decider.
All-girl affair VAMP took assault on Newcastle’s The Studio mid-2009 to lay down three of their signature tunes, plus a tasty little cover (which may surprise!) with local engineer Kenny Jewell.
“ I honesty feel this recording captures VAMP's true essence; We don't do things in a girly, princess-like fashion”, Lead singer/guitarist Harmonie Harris exclaims, “We want our music to be an audible smack across the face, and I feel we've achieved that with this release!”
Harmonie, along with fellow VAMP-sters bassist Corie Chambers and drummer/backing vocalist Libby Jones, have been together only a year, but in this short period have certainly started paying their rock dues, playing gigs from Newcastle to Port Macquarie, at Sydney’s infamous Annandale Hotel, supported The Pictures and are set to play a massive Mardi Gras party in 2010!
These three girls were born to unleash their own brand of music on the stage, a heady mix of old school rock and roll, some-what controversial lyrics, solid musicianship, with a heart of gold underneath it all.
VAMP cannot wait to rock you as they tour the Nation in 2010!
Get your hands on a limited edition VAMP vinyl at their live shows, online (myspace.com/vamptheband) or at Beaumont Street Beat in Newcastle.
VAMP Vinyl Tour Dates VIC – Jan/Feb 2010
13th Jan @ the Espy, St Kilda VIC 14th Jan @ Beav’s Bar, Geelong VIC 15th Jan @ Pony, Melbourne VIC 16th Jan @ the Arthouse, Melbourne VIC"
