A good number of musicians recognize that time spent in the recording studio is a big determent of future success. Many musicians place strong emphasis on their music itself, although promotion and performance quality are also important. The right promotion decisions usually make a big difference in how many people will get to hear a new act's music. Making a band stand out from the rest may take some creative brainstorming, but this planning is necessary due to the competitive nature of the music business. Good demo tracks, band websites, and live performances also play a role in building a loyal fan following. Websites in particular can bring a band's finished tracks to as many new listeners as possible.  

High Quality Product Creation

Musical talent is only one part of a high quality product, and presentation is another key factor. Studio quality demo recordings are generally preferred over home recordings despite improvements in technology. A recording session with professional sound engineers can make a large difference in the final product's sound quality.

On-Stage Performances

Professional musicians and recording engineers are able to separate band performances from their presentations, although listeners need to perceive the two as one and the same. A metal band can have a great sound, but their performance can fall flat on a poorly-designed stage. Factors that can improve this presentation usually include stage lighting, band photography, and active stage presence. 

Band Merchandise

Selling band merch is a common and effective way to bring in the needed income for a newer band in the beginning. Time spent practicing in rehearsal studios Melbourne only pays off for bands who are able to maximize their earning power. Band posters and CDs are popular sellers at live performances, and these also need some planning in order to sell well. CD packaging and artwork are initial investments, though many bands find the expense worth the returns. Live gigs present the best opportunities for band photography and for selling merchandise. A great presentation and great music stand the best chances of bringing a new band success in the music industry.

Thus, they are going to Memphis in January to represent Melbourne in the International Blues Challenge (IBC) against the best up and coming Blues acts from around the world, including the USA.
