News : Light the FUSE!

Limelight writes"

FUSE: held at the Colonial Hotel (Brown Alley) on the corner of King and Lonsdale streets, this Friday (March 31)

The ambition is to create the true hard rock atmosphere that Melbourne has been asking for, at the same time fighting off the invasion of pretentious cafes and horrid ‘Pokie venues’ with the guts and glory that only a live stage-show can deliver.

We have had two nights there already with huge success, however if you'd like to see Fuse become a regular night at Brown alley, come along this Friday and support the cause.

This week the night kicks off with an acoustic set by Ordain, then Illumni, Nevereleven and Days of Red follow before Nitidus wrap the whole night up headlining and filming the set for their new music video. This will be a night to remember!

News : Highroad No. 28 continue national tour!

hrno28 writes"Press Release - 13/03/06

Highroad No. 28 continue Unsteady and Steady State National Tour!

Highroad No. 28, who officially released their debut album, Unsteady and Steady Steady in December 2005 are continuing their National Tour in support of the album.

After covering Townsville, Brisbane and Canberra, they hit Melbourne and Tasmania in April 2006.

The band have released the following dates/venues:

13th April: Barleycorn Hotel, Melbourne (with guests)
14th April: Bondy's Barn Hotel, Melbourne (with guests)
15th April: Noise Bar (for Noise TV, SBS), Melbourne (with guests)

17th April: Saloon Hotel, Launceston, Tasmania (with guests)
18th April: Trout Hotel, Hobart, Tasmania (with guests)

The band are very much looking forward to the tour. Founding member Andrew J. Cantwell states "this is a chance to prove to this country what an awesome band we are, and that we are the most determined band around" It is possible, but not yet confirmed, that Cantwell, guitarist/vocalist, may be (temporarily) returning to drums/vocals for the tour. After finishing this leg of their national tour the guys head home to Sydney and plan Adelaide and Perth shows. Cantwell leaves us with a final admonishment "be prepared, cause we are going to blow everyone away!"

Formed in late 1998, Highroad No. 28 have ever so surely built themselves into a tight and cogent outfit. They play an eclectic style of pop-rock, with introspective lyrics.

For more information, please contact the band at or at the website.
