News : Record YR MusicOZ Awards entry LIVE in Melbourne!
VicMUSIC writes"The Musicoz Awards are open and what better way to
enter than record your entry live! There’s limited places to record
your entry live at the Noise bar in Brunswick every Thursday night in July & at Zudio Studio in Clayton on Sunday the 16th & 23rd July!
partnership with VicMUSIC, NoiseTV and Zudio Studio, Musicoz is excited
to announce that Melbourne’s unsigned artists have the opportunity to
lay down their tracks to enter the annual Musicoz Awards – Australia’s
biggest Awards for unsigned artists.
Recording in a
professional studio can produce excellent results for bands but there
are those bands and solo artists who are currently either just starting
off and can’t afford studio time or haven’t got home recording
facilities. Not only that, but some performers tend to play better live
and so what better way to get your songs on a CD and enter the Musicoz
Awards at the same time?
“It’s cheap means of recording and it’s
a great way to hear how you sound live,” said Kimberley Hopkins,
Publicist for Musicoz. “It costs $25 per song to enter the Musicoz
Awards and like all entries, if you record a fourth song at Noise bar,
it’s for free. So in a nutshell, the recording is free and you enter
those songs into the Musicoz Awards. It’s that easy!”
entering the Musicoz Awards, artists are in the running to win over a
hundred thousand dollars in cash and prizes and industry opportunities
including instruments from Turramurra Music, mastering at Turtlerock,
production deals with Faultline Records, Tone Market and Central
Station Records (to name just a few). Plus other awesome prizes like
recording time at Trackdown, Velvet Studios, Mainstreet and Studio 301.

News : Public Revolution get exclusive release of new songs by 26.
founder writes"Melbourne rockers 26 and online indie portal www.publicrevolution.com
have announced new songs Let Down and Friendly Fire to be released
exclusively through Public Revolution.com. The agreement comes in the
wake of their successful first album The King Must Die which received
widespread acclaim and airplay on JJJ, and netted the band thousands of
myspace fans. Self managed, 26 are one of the smart new breed of bands
taking full advantage of the internet to DIY their success to retain
full ownership and control of their songs, image, career and ultimately
"The internet now allows bands/managers to do their own
marketing and advertising which is really where Public Revolution
shines." commented founder Terry Church, "We designed the site to be
much more than just a free online store 'plug-in' for indie
artists/managers, it's true purpose is an advertising portal with
streaming radio, video, gig guide, and many places for artists to be
featured." Church said.
Singer and manager Nick O'donnell agreed
as to the internet's advantages by saying "Sites like myspace and
Public Revolution allowed us to organise our whole tour and sales
online. We chose Public Revolution because they're all about quality...
their mp3's are the highest at 192kbps and sell for 99cents, and they
don't allow just anyone to upload and join - you have to submit your
music and be invited." He said. "It's also nice to see some financial
reward for a change rather than give our songs away."
Let Down and Friendly Fire will be available exclusively through
www.publicrevolution.com for the entire month of July following their
coming tour which starts in Adelaide on the 13th of July and finishes
in Brisbane on the 20th July. For full details go to www.26theband.com
