Established band dOG pLANET are looking for a creative and dedicated singer/lyricist.
We have 8-10 tracks written and ready for vocals/lyrics. Most of the songs sound fairly unique from one another, so it's hard to pin down one sound, but I'd say the spectrum varies from funk to alt rock, blues, surf, stoner, punk, garage, etc. It's really hard to describe without sounding lame! One over arching aspect is that all of the songs are a bit weird and quirky with some interesting changes. The best way to get an idea is probably just have a listen to a few amateur recordings that we're done:
We're 3 guys (Bass, Drums, Guitar) in our early 30's and have been playing together for about a year and a half. We get together once a week at my home studio in Kensington, have a few beers and write some tunes.....it's good fun. We've played a few gigs in the past, but need a singer to help make that possible again as our last has singer moved away.
We're looking for someone with a similar age/attitude who's laid back, but dedicated enough to write some lyrics for the songs and turn up to practice at least every second week. Above all, we're looking for someone who is creative and interested in doing something a little different. In terms of a vocal style, we're pretty much open to anything. If you also played keyboard or another melodic instrument, that would be freaking awesome as we're thinking it could be cool to see if that could be incorporated into our sound.
If you like the sound of our tunes and think you might be the right fit, please get in touch via email at firstname.lastname@example.org (don't PM as I never check) and let us know a bit about yourself including your age, location, influences, etc. Also, it'd be great to hear some recordings so we can get a feel for your style.
