Just wondering if there is other places to look for drummers apart from Melband?
Thinking maybe the next step is to do the old fashioned flyers around recording studios.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated, because after looking for 4 years, I think I admit that I suck in getting a band together.
Thanks,Lara

Forgive my previous smartarse post...

Music shops; especially GH Music (old Billy Hydes in Flemington) and Drummers Paradise; rehearsal rooms,... you might do OK there.

Not being smart but have you seen the virtual drummer in Logic Pro ten ?
It's unreal.
If you need drums to your music maybe write it in there.
Then post finished demos online so a real drummer can see if they like it

Thanks for the replies, haha no I understand, I didn't take offense at all. Yeah 4 years- Shocked but that's probably not that long to be looking, I have been doing okay without a band ... still not holding my breath, solo is still what I'm doing until then Cool

What I did was record a cd and just session a drummer, THEN find a drummer to play gigs with me. Because I had a quality product it was much easier to find someone who wanted to play with me, because I had something that showed people what I was about.

last post for a drummer 3 months ago... doesn't seem like a terribly exhaustive search... Smile

anyway, you mention you have recordings you can send to people... perhaps post a snippet somewhere like reverbnation to allow people to listen without having to send you an email...
