I regularly buy clutches of $1 CDs at random from a stall at Monash Uni... about 1/5 I really like...
Today I bought a CD by someone called Cindy Morgan.
I really liked it - it's really good music.
So I did an internet search to find out who she was...
Turns out she is a Christian. Nothing wrong with that, but... with this knowledge, and upon further listening, I hear lots of references that suggest she is probably some sort of fundamentalist. For example, in one of the songs, called "The End of the World", there are lots of references to stuff from Revelation... e.g. the four horsemen of the apocalypse, the seven seals, etc., etc...
I don't know if I can enjoy this CD anymore, but the music is great...

Enjoy it.
Music should never be journalism...so if you enjoy listening to it then the artistic connection in made.
How many songs do you like hearing and think they mean something the singer never intented...plenty.
I enjoy listening to the Clash but I think their politics are bullshit...doesn't detract from my enjoyment. |

I expect that you're right, System. It's just that I have some bad mental associations owing to certain associations I had with Christian fundamentalists in my past...
But the music is great!

Louisa will be very disappointed that you didn't remember her name properly... but then, I guess she'd also be very disappointed if she knew that I'd written a song about her while she was resting in the wardrobe...
