I’m looking for a drummer and bass player for a power trio to play covers. Imagine if The Winery Dogs did classic rock covers as well as some more modern stuff.
Aside from a general blues-rock/classic rock covers set, I’d like to do something special with different theme nights at venues like The Fyrefly, The Espy and Memo Music Hall.
Examples:
Set 1: Aussie Rock Classics
Set 2: Music Of The Guitar Gods
Set 1: Hair Metal Power Ballads
Set: Hair Metal Fist-Pumpers
Set 1: British metal
Set 2: Thrash’s Big Four
Others would be full-night themes:
Hits of the 80s (including Toto mini-set)
Grunge
Pink Floyd
Van Halen
A little about me: I’m 41, been playing guitar since I was 8 years old, and you may possibly have seen my instructional column in Australian Guitar Magazine or have seen me play at the Melbourne Guitar Show (with Ausband’s own legendary Mr. Geoff Mison). I’ve jammed with Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Phil Manning and Dave Leslie, had lessons with Paul Gilbert, I’ve worked for companies like Gibson and Seymour Duncan, I’ve been a music journalist for 20 years… basically I’m a shy dude but I know my s**t and I live to play.
Here are some videos.

I know, right? I mean if you wanted to do it then that's an instant 'you're in' from me but I figured you'd be too damn busy! _________________ http://iheartguitarblog.com |

Hey! Got a few people interested but haven't started auditions yet. So if you're interested, send me info. There are a few people who seem like frontrunners at this point but it's impossible to tell until we get into a room.
We'll be rehearsing at either Bakehouse or the former SoxyMusic location on Inkerman St in St Kilda (a friend is about to rent that building for his business but the rehearsal space is still there so he'll let me use it). _________________ http://iheartguitarblog.com |
