Our yet to be named ‘double-garage band’ are a mature-aged (40s to 60s) hobby band rehearsing in a Preston (you guessed it) double garage on weekends/Mondays. We are currently two guitarists (alternating rhythm and lead, one on lead vocals), bass and drums. The focus is on combining crowd pleasers from the classic rock/pop past along with some edgier, alternative gems.
We are looking for a keyboard player, with their own gear and transport, who can ideally share lead and backing vocals. The setlist includes Stones, Hendrix, Van Morrison, XTC, Stranglers, The Cult, Neil Young, The Angels and others. We’ve worked on about 32 songs and currently rehearsing them to be gig-ready. We will start looking for low-key gigs when the line-up is settled and gelled.
If interested, prepare keys and/or vocals to jam the following songs (or ask about the rest of our setlist if others might suit):
Making Plans for Nigel-XTC; She Sells Sanctuary-The Cult; Get a Grip-the Stranglers; Pump it up-Elvis Costello; You Can’t Always Get What You Want-Stones.
Would suit someone easygoing, with realistic expectations and a good vocal range. We tend to organise ourselves democratically with input from all members regarding song selection and arrangement and planned rehearsal times, taking into account people’s family needs and commitments outside of the band. Please PM with contact details and a little about you and someone will contact you to discuss further.
