I wonder if anyone can offer an opinion on this?

I've never seen, heard of or found in an internet search the wood of "Woollybutt" used and my friend is proposing to use a nice figured piece for an electric bass.

I'm guessing that it will be dense and hence need to use either for aesthetic purposes as maybe a top or sparingly but there is a though that it could be used for a through neck and, although it appears to be used for structural items, I can't work out if it would be feasible for neck use, any ideas welcome.

Thanks,
