Not sure if it would be popular or not.
A forum specifically for people to get reviewed, hints/tips/info, constructive criticisym, opinions, suggestions. On their music, song, video's etc.
The advertise your band mp3's etc forum is basically advertising.
People rarely dare to critique on other's music. Some muso's dont want to hear opinions or (the ugly word) 'criticized', but others would.
Just a thought

Im on the fence as some peoples reviews could be bias and their credibility cant be cheked.
For example: DTB could give a 5 star review for presonus firepod but he could also be a Presonus sales rep.
or get bad reviews about fender telecasters from people who only play metal with ESP and Ibanez.
Mabye if there was a credible reviewer/s

Lol! Dude - trust me, I'd NEVER give the Firepod a 5 star review. It's buggy as hell and has taken me 6 months get right!
But I take your point. I think it is more around reviewing live shows.

was reading MIXDOWN at the time (ive never read a bad review on that mag.
But same goes for gigs, you wouldnt get HT to review Linkin Park or The Jefferson Airplane as his review would be bias.

rather see a forum for managers and or venues so they can advertise for acts.
bread and butter forum that is useful rather than a 'let's blow smoke up each others' arses' waste of bandwidth.

May as well make use of the un used option.
Actually, blowing smoke up each other's arses is in the
(advertise your band and mp3's) forum.
And it should be. Its advertising, so any fans or supporters can blow smoke up there for them in whatever style suits the artist's.
The review forum would need some basic rules.
Based on honest constructive critisism, with a reasonable unbiased maturity.
and artists understand that they are entering thier music for criticism, suggestions, tips, opinions, advice etc. From muso's professional and unprofessional.
thats putting it into minumal words.
Maybe with a headline like: ENTER AT OWN RISK
